Cybersecurity is crucial in today’s world where the internet has become an integral part of our lives. With the increasing use of social media platforms and online searches, personal data is becoming more accessible, making users vulnerable to cybercrime. People are the weakest link in the cybersecurity chain, and students are no exception. Due to their lack of awareness about the cybersecurity environment and the consequences of cybercrime, they often violate cybersecurity policies. Therefore, increasing user awareness and training is necessary, particularly in educational institutes where students constitute the majority of users. Cybersecurity awareness is essential to protect against cybercrime, including phishing, scams, and hacking, which can lead to privacy breaches and hardware sabotage. As the internet usage has spread rapidly, cybercrime and electronic fraud cases have also increased, making it crucial to follow cybersecurity guidelines offered by organizations. By implementing and adhering to cybersecurity guidelines across all divisions of an organization, employees can be educated to become less vulnerable to cyber-attacks.
