Joseph Robinette Biden Jr., commonly known as Joe Biden, was born on November 20, 1942, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, United States. He is an American politician and is the 46th President of the United States, serving since January 20, 2021.

Biden grew up in a Catholic family and attended the University of Delaware, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1965. He then attended Syracuse University Law School and graduated with a Juris Doctor in 1968. He was admitted to the Delaware Bar in 1969 and began his political career soon after.

Biden was first elected to the United States Senate in 1972, representing Delaware. He served as a senator for six terms, from 1973 to 2009. During his tenure, he chaired the Senate Judiciary Committee and the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, among other positions. He also served as Vice President of the United States under President Barack Obama from 2009 to 2017.

Throughout his career, Biden has been an advocate for civil rights, healthcare reform, and foreign policy. He has been a vocal supporter of LGBTQ+ rights and has advocated for measures to combat climate change. He has also been a strong advocate for gun control and criminal justice reform.

In the 2020 United States presidential election, Biden defeated incumbent President Donald Trump to become the 46th President of the United States. He was inaugurated on January 20, 2021, alongside Vice President Kamala Harris, the first woman and person of color to hold that office.

Biden’s presidency has been marked by efforts to combat the COVID-19 pandemic, economic recovery, and infrastructure development. He has also prioritized measures to address climate change and racial equity, among other issues.

Joe Biden attended the University of Delaware, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1965. He then attended Syracuse University Law School and graduated with a Juris Doctor in 1968. It is known that he struggled with a stutter as a child, which he has spoken publicly about and has credited for teaching him empathy and patience.

In terms of his academic achievements, Biden has been awarded several honorary degrees from various universities, including the University of Notre Dame, the University of Scranton, and Georgetown University. He has also been recognized for his public service and leadership, receiving numerous awards throughout his career, including the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian honor in the United States.
